About the Role:
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure to manage and scale our investing terminal.
You will take ownership of our DigitalOcean-based infrastructure and ensure smooth delivery of real-time market data.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled DevOps professional to make a significant impact in a fintech startup.
You’ll work on automating deployments, optimizing performance, and keeping our systems running 24/7 for global users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure on DigitalOcean, ensuring high availability and security for all services (databases, APIs, web servers).
- Scalability: Efficiently scale microservices, databases, and data pipelines to handle growing volumes of financial market data and user traffic.
- Data Pipeline Enhancement: Enhance our market data pipeline for reliability and speed – optimize data ingestion, processing, and distribution of real-time and historical stock data.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Create a comprehensive Prometheus monitoring dashboard to track cron jobs, databases (including user DB), Kubernetes cluster health, and overall application performance. Set up alerts to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Kubernetes CronJobs: Migrate existing scheduled tasks and cron jobs to Kubernetes CronJob resources. Ensure scheduling is reliable and maintenance is simplified through containerization.
- Cost Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize cloud usage to reduce costs. Right-size resources, implement auto-scaling, and use spot instances or other cost-saving measures without compromising performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Kubernetes Expert: Hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and managing applications on Kubernetes (K8s) in production. You know how to use Helm, customize manifests, and keep clusters healthy.
- Cloud Proficiency: Solid experience with DigitalOcean or similar cloud providers (AWS, GCP, etc.), including managing droplets/VMs, volumes, networking, and load balancers.
- DevOps Tools: Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar). Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana for monitoring, and logging stacks (ELK/EFK).
- Market Data Experience: Prior experience handling financial market data or similar high-volume data pipelines. Understanding of market data feeds, APIs, and time-series databases is a big plus.
- Automation & Scripting: Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Go) to automate workflows. Comfortable with configuration management and version control (Git).
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive mindset to prevent issues. Ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate effectively in English.
Why You Should Apply:
- Impact & Ownership: Lead the DevOps efforts for a platform aiming to democratize finance. Your work will directly affect the reliability and speed of a product used by investors worldwide.
- Cutting-Edge Tech: Work with the latest cloud and container technologies (K8s, cloud automation, monitoring tools) in a real-world high-data-volume environment.
- Growth Opportunity: As an early tea
- Flexible & Remote: Work from anywhere. We welcome talented engineers especially from emerging markets – get a chance to showcase your skills on a global stage and earn a competitive income for your region.
Do not apply if you don't have the required skills....
