Are you a talented writer and editor with an exceptional eye for detail? Do you thrive on creating polished, purposeful content that resonates with readers? Are you looking for an opportunity to grow alongside a dynamic, ambitious business?
I’m seeking a content editing assistant to join a high-quality and growing travel blog, dedicated to exploring the culture, history, food, and accommodation of iconic destinations, primarily in Europe. You’ll play a key role in ensuring every piece of content meets the highest standards for quality, accuracy, and engagement.
I’m looking for someone who consistently produces well-researched, engaging, and error-free work. Whether your experience lies in crafting short stories, research essays, blog posts, poetry, or analytical pieces, I’m seeking a candidate who can demonstrate a versatile, thoughtful, and refined approach to content.
At its heart, this blog is about providing practical, reader-focused travel guides—covering itineraries, food and accommodation recommendations, and in-depth travel tips—all infused with my personal experiences and perspectives. The goal is to inform and inspire, combining useful information with engaging narratives that give readers a real feel for each destination.
You’ll also have the opportunity to grow with the business, taking on a range of writing and editing responsibilities that evolve as the blog expands. This is a unique chance to flex your creative muscles while honing your editorial expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Initially, your focus will be on refining and updating existing blog content to ensure it aligns with our style, SEO principles, and high editorial standards. Full training and resources will be provided to support you in mastering these tasks. This initial phase will serve as a foundation for understanding the content and processes. If both parties are happy, the role will evolve to include:
--> Assist with new blog content creation: Conduct research, draft initial outlines, or create first drafts.
--> Establish a process for reviewing and updating older blog posts over time on a rolling basis.

--> Restructure posts for better user experience and search intent.
--> Ensure consistency in tone, style, formatting, and accuracy across all content.
--> Fact-check and update outdated information by referencing credible sources, primarily official attraction or destination websites.
--> Collaborate with the founder to refine content strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
As the role progresses, you will:
--> Assist with new blog content creation, including research, first drafts, and editing for accuracy and tone.
--> Develop a content update process to keep older posts fresh and engaging.
--> Repurpose blog posts for
Key Qualities We’re Looking For:
--> Exceptional Writing & Editing: You excel at crafting engaging, polished content that aligns with a specific tone and voice.
--> Creative and Versatile: You bring a strong foundation in creative or academic writing, able to adapt your skills to suit formats like blog posts.
--> Meticulous Attention to Detail: You spot inconsistencies, understand nuance, and ensure every piece meets high-quality standards.
--> Aptitude for Learning: You’re curious, adaptable, and quick to pick up new skills or tools (e.g., SEO best practices, WordPress formatting).
--> Strategic Thinker: You consider how content fits into a broader strategy, including internal linking and user flow.
--> Proactive Problem-Solver: You take ownership of tasks, troubleshoot effectively, and communicate any challenges or insights.
--> Adaptible: Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and tasks as the role grows.
Additional Details:
--> Hours: 20 hours per week, with some flexibility.
--> Daily Overlap: 1–2 hours of availability within Dublin time for check-ins and guidance.
--> Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and skills.
Application Process:
--> Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until Saturday 7th December.
