The position:

The Content Strategist - Creative has an aptitude for creativity and strategy; they translate client objectives, audience data and cultural trends into meaningful creative insights and concepts for our clients. They support in developing and pitching integrated campaigns to the Social Motive team and our clients.

The Content Strategist - Creative plays a pivotal in shaping a brand’s narrative. This individual enjoys strategising, developing ideas and delivering valuable creative assets for our clients and business. They work closely with all areas of the Social Motive team but often need to work autonomously to create and provide content that drives positive outcomes for our clients.

The Content Strategist - Creative at Social Motive is proactive and driven by innovative ideas. They excel as a storyteller and visual communication artists and serve as a prominent advocate for creativity and design.


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

As a Content Strategist - Creative at Social Motive, you will be responsible for the following:

Content Delivery: In conjunction with other team members, manage content creation, schedules and projects aligned with assigned strategies, adhering to our clients’ brand identities and messaging.


Graphic Design: Create eye-catching visuals and engaging graphics for various digital and traditional placements using tools like Adobe or Canva.

Video: Ideation, development and creation of various video outputs, including but not limited to engaging short videos for social media, promotional videos, animations and storytelling videos. Proficiency in video editing is a must.


Photography: Possess a keen visual sense and a grasp of basic photography principles to skillfully capture images, thereby directly impacting the quality of the creative content outcomes.


Reporting: Play a role in collecting, analysing, and presenting data to support informed decision-making within the organisation.


Strategy: Support the ongoing development of creative strategies for all clients and Social Motive. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in graphic design and digital media to continuously improve the quality and relevance of our content and make ongoing recommendations for refinement and amendments.


Client Communication: With a high level of communication, you will successfully communicate with clients regarding creative content. Deliver and present client pitches and support where required in strategy meetings to represent the creative arm of our business.


Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with our strategists, copywriters, and other team members to understand client goals and deliver content that meets objectives.

Independently Manage Projects: Take ownership of content creation projects, from concept to execution, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Academic or trade qualifications:


A degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Graphic Design or Media is desirable.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:


Proven work experience as a content creator and strategist or similar role.
A portfolio of previously created content.
A passion for social media and a strong understanding of different platforms, specifically Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Proficiency in using graphic design tools such as Adobe or Canva.
Basic video editing skills and experience in creating social media videos.
Experience in the production of video and photo shoots.
A strong creative eye with the ability to translate client briefs into high quality, compelling visual content.
Ability and experience in working independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
The desire and willingness to engage in ongoing and self-directed learning.
Strong attention to detail is essential.
Team player mentality that likes to have fun.
