Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead and manage the financial operations of our growing eCommerce brand. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and finance, with a proven ability to implement and oversee financial systems, prepare accurate financial statements, and support the strategic growth of an eCommerce business.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

-Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
-Provide financial advice to senior executives on issues of major significance that may impact current and future business and the Company's profitability and reputation
-Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
-Present key financial insights to executive leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
-Direct the preparation of statistics for financial statements, including preparation of charts and graphs depicting progress, conditions, and results, and related reports and recommendations.

Accounting Operations

-Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting.
-Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
-Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
-Establish proper accounting controls and procedures.
-Perform month-end cost accounting and inventory reconciliation.
-Conduct hard close for each month-end and provide a standard reporting package in a timely fashion.
-Establish sales and expense recognition procedures, accruals, and reserves in accordance with GAAP.

Budgeting and Forecasting

-Lead the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, aligning with company goals and growth strategies.
-Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing regular updates to management.
-Manage, develop, monitor, and analyze monthly operating budgets and models.

Financial Planning and Liquidity Management

-Actively manage working capital/liquidity in a levered capital structure.
-Manage working capital line of credit and related debt covenants.

Strategic Cost Management

-Promote and initiate aggressive strategies to achieve cost savings and strengthen responsiveness to customers in cooperation with other senior executives.

eCommerce Financial Oversight

-Analyze eCommerce-specific metrics such as cost of goods sold (COGS), return rates, and marketing ROI.
Support inventory management by providing financial insights on stock levels, turnover, and procurement strategies.

Tax and Compliance

-Oversee tax planning and compliance, including the preparation and submission of tax returns.
-Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as eCommerce sales tax requirements.
-Ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
-Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.

Audit Management
-Manage external auditors during the calendar year-end audit process.

Team Leadership and Collaboration
-Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and supply chain, to align financial strategies with business objectives.
