BuilderBid is a high-tech startup simplifying the construction estimating process for residential home builders and contractors. We make it easy for building companies to request takeoffs and outsource their estimating system to us.
We are looking for 1 to 2 expert construction estimators to add to the team.

Construction Estimator II Description

Overview:
As a Construction Estimator II at BuilderBid, you will play a crucial role in assisting home builders and contractors in accurately estimating the quantities and costs of their residential construction projects by using our advanced estimating software with a localized cost database. Your primary responsibility will be to perform quantity takeoffs, read through subcontractor bids and client requirements, and assess blueprint details to ensure accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time, 40-50 hours per week

Responsibilities:
Read / interpret blueprints, drawings & specifications to identify key notes on plans. Provide clear and detailed quantity takeoffs. Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates in a timely manner. Prioritize tasks as needed and maintain time management. Take notes from the management team on alterations to the bid, revise, review, and continually improve accuracy of takeoffs.

Qualifications:
• Qualified candidate will be a self-starter, must be able to meet critical deadlines
• Candidate should have strong communication skills and be responsive
• Keeps organized, takes notes, asks questions, and learns from mistakes
• A team player that strives to continuously learn and improve
• Analytical with great attention to detail
• Ability to read construction blueprints
• Minimum 3+ years in the construction industry
• Minimum 2 years of construction estimating experience (4+ years preferred)
• Proficient using spreadsheets and online software applications
• Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the building construction industry
• Architect, Engineer, or current Construction Estimators who meet the above qualifications are encouraged to apply
• Can read and write English at or near a mastery level of proficiency
