Position Overview:
We're seeking a talented illustrator to bring the world of Lulu and Drew to life through warm, engaging illustrations that capture the joy, challenges, and growth moments of these beloved characters. The illustrator will work closely with our creative team to create artwork that resonates with young readers (ages 4-8) while supporting our faith-based message.
Key Responsibilities:

Create full-color illustrations for a 30-page children's picture book
Design consistent character representations of Lulu, Drew, and their family
Illustrate diverse settings including home, school, and playground scenes
Develop preliminary sketches and storyboards for review
Collaborate with the creative team on visual storytelling and pacing
Meet established project milestones and deadlines
Participate in feedback sessions and implement revisions as needed

Required Qualifications:

Professional portfolio demonstrating experience in children's book illustration
Strong ability to convey emotion and movement in illustrations
Experience creating diverse, inclusive character designs
Excellent visual storytelling skills
Proficiency in digital illustration tools and/or traditional media
Strong understanding of color theory and composition
Ability to maintain consistent character design across multiple scenes
Experience working with publishing deadlines and production schedules

Desired Skills:

Understanding of faith-based children's content
Experience illustrating for early readers (ages 4-8)
Knowledge of current children's book illustration trends
Background in creating educational or developmental materials
Ability to illustrate scenes that inspire confidence and emotional connection
