We are rapidly growing, and we are seeking an experienced and driven Credit Manager to join our dynamic team.


Position Overview:

The Credit Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, and reporting on the credit function in the company. This role will require a highly skilled professional with an in-depth background in credit, banking, and lending, with experience in the Australian financial services sector. The Credit Manager will oversee the credit approval process, manage customer interactions, and ensure that all credit-related activities align with regulatory and company standards.


This is a leadership position, where you will play a key role in driving the company’s credit strategy, providing guidance to the credit team, and ensuring the seamless execution of credit assessments and approvals.


Key Responsibilities:

· Leadership & Strategy:

o Lead and manage the credit function in the company, providing strategic direction and oversight.

o Develop, implement, and continually refine the company’s credit policies and procedures.

o Monitor the overall credit risk management framework to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

· Credit Assessments & Approvals:

o Oversee the credit application process, including assessing and approving loan applications, reviewing credit reports, and ensuring all relevant criteria are met.

o Ensure that credit decisions are based on thorough analysis, are fair, and align with the company's risk appetite.

o Manage and coordinate the credit risk assessments to ensure optimal outcomes for both the client and the company.

· Customer Interaction:

o Engage with customers regularly via telephone, email, and Teams meetings for on-boarding, address inquiries, discuss credit assessments, and provide assistance throughout the loan process.

o Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of any credit-related issues.

o Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring clients have a positive experience with the company.


· Team Leadership & Development:

o Mentor and guide the credit team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

o Lead regular team meetings to ensure alignment on key objectives and promote continuous improvement within the team.

o Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for team members to enhance their credit knowledge and skills.

· Reporting & Analytics:

o Prepare and present regular reports on credit performance, trends, and risks to senior management.

o Utilize data and analytics to track credit performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions where necessary.

o Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of key credit metrics to senior leadership.

· Compliance & Risk Management:

o Ensure all credit operations adhere to Australian banking regulations, lending standards, and internal policies.

o Actively manage credit risk, ensuring early identification and mitigation of potential risks.


Qualifications & Experience:

· Education & Background:
o Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Banking, or a related field.
o Relevant certifications in credit, banking, or lending would be highly advantageous.

· Professional Experience:

o Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in credit management, lending, or banking, with a deep understanding of credit risk and loan assessments.

o Strong background in working for an Australian company within the financial services, lending, or banking sector.

o Experience in real estate, conveyancing, and legal frameworks is highly advantageous.

· Skills & Competencies:

o Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to engage and influence customers at all levels.

o Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully guiding teams in high-pressure environments.

o Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound, data-driven decisions.

o Comfortable using modern communication tools such as email, telephone, and virtual meetings (e.g., Teams) to manage customer interactions and collaborate with the team.
