CPA - Cost Accountant for Storm Restoration Roofing Company - EST

Position Overview:
We are a dynamic storm restoration company specializing in roofing services. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant with CPA certification to join our team. This role requires an expert in accounting, specifically cost accounting, with experience in setting up and modifying the chart of accounts to meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Chart of Accounts Management: Set up, modify, and maintain the chart of accounts to ensure it aligns with our business requirements and structure.
Transaction Sorting: Review transactions, read comments from the owners, and sort them accordingly, saving them as drafts before finalizing entries.
Tool Utilization: Use software tools like Saasant to streamline and adjust the chart of accounts, ensuring accurate categorization and reconciliation of accounts.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare cost reports, including analysis and breakdowns of expenses, for internal use and performance assessment.
Cost Allocation: Track and allocate costs accurately across different projects and tasks to support precise budgeting and project profitability.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather and verify financial data, offering insights on cost efficiency and financial planning.
Qualifications:

CPA Certification is mandatory.
Experience in Cost Accounting, preferably within the storm restoration or construction industry.
Proficiency with QuickBooks and Saasant for chart of accounts adjustments.
Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Experience with reading and implementing comments and directives from upper management for transaction sorting and financial record keeping.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with project-based accounting and managing costs across multiple jobs.
Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.
Knowledge of storm restoration industry practices and cost allocation methods.
