JOB OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW:
The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer works collaboratively with end users to develop reporting
systems that provide accessible information for decision-making. The BI Developer uses
warehouse data to solve organizational problems through reports, analysis, and data
visualization. The BI Developer will provide enterprise-wide data warehouse expertise with
emphasis on data design, access, usage, security, and quality of information assets. The BI
Developer will work in support of all managers and users requiring data for decision support.
EXPECTATIONS:
? Assist in the development and on-going maintenance of the ODS, executing against
established best practices and architectural implementation standards.
? Assist in the development and implementation of row level security and data driven
subscriptions.
? Write relational and multidimensional database queries.
? Write relational and multidimensional database queries and stored procedures to
populate reporting datasets.
? Design, build, enhance, and maintain PowerBI and SSRS reports and dashboards working
from specification documents and/or direct interaction with business users.
? Meet with key stakeholders from all departments to gather, analyze, and determine data
and information requirements in support of the BI roadmap, as well as business-as-usual
requests.
? Evangelize the “BI Community” vision and the most effective use of data to drive business
performance and employee satisfaction while encouraging the use of self-service BI and
visual discovery as a means of becoming the smartest mortgage banking company in
America.
? Deliver relevant and actionable insights through the analysis of different data sets.
? Document specifications for business intelligence reports, dashboards, or other outputs.
? Assist business units with information in the use of the available information delivery
alternatives (e.g., canned reports, dashboards, self-service analytics tools, and data
extracts).
? Communicate at all levels as a key factor for success utilizing technical documentation,

s, meetings and business unit updates.
? Continuously look for new ways of introducing process improvement in all aspects of the
development life cycle. Performance, improved productivity, efficiencies, and
optimization are key measurements.
? Peer code reviews and inspections for the purpose of program optimization and
accuracy.
? Provides security, integrity and validity to all business data and all BI reports.
III. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
? Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in related field; or equivalent work experience.
? 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry (preferably mortgage origination).
? 5+ years of experience in successfully delivering analytical solutions via the Microsoft: BI
software offering: SQL/SSIS/SSAS/SSRS/Excel.
? Must be passionate about financial services and technology, eager to learn more and have
the problem-solver DNA, which helps understand a problem quickly and thinking of
innovative and creative solutions.
? Strong presentation skills and proven ability to successfully interface with and influence
at all levels.
? Must take pride in the quality of your work and ensure that each solution meets functional
and technical needs.
? Ability to manage multiple deliveries on me as well as prioritize tasks accordingly.
? Broad understanding of the business requirements of the financial services industry and
willing to roll up your sleeves to translate them into user stories or artifacts as needed.
? Demonstrated team player and problem-solver.
? Must have a demonstrated passion for helping internal customers in order to achieve the
full potential for the organization.
? Must be proactive about sharing knowledge and communicating feedback for improving
our products to our development teams.
? Must be comfortable expressing opinions, but also open to receiving constructive
feedback.
