Sidekick is a remote-based Chartered Accountancy firm in the UK that provides end-to-end accounting and advisory services to ambitious businesses. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bookkeeping Manager to join our remote team and help our clients gain insight into their financial performance. This position offers you the opportunity to work from home.
Qualifications for this position:
- Be CPA qualified
- At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience in an overseas accounting firm
- Practical Xero experience is required
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to self-review trade payables and receivables
- Knowledge of the UK tax system (VAT, Payroll) would be beneficial, but not essential
- Experience in training more junior staff will be advantageous
- Be inquisitive, a creative thinker, and attentive to financial trends
- Be detail-oriented, a quick learner, and collaborative
The day-to-day responsibilities for the role include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients that you will work closely with in a tailored way
- Executing the full end-to-end accounting cycle for your portfolio
- Performing weekly and monthly bookkeeping while also ensuring the effective management of bookkeeping for all clients
- Review your team’s bookkeeping work, providing constructive feedback
- Directly communicating with UK clients via Slack and
- Support in setting up accounting systems (Xero and Dext) and bookkeeping processes for new clients
- Posting monthly journals and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations
- Hold responsibility for data accuracy in Xero, ensuring the accounts are up to date weekly using Dext, Xero bank reconciliation, and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly Management Accounts along with written analysis of the numbers
- Bringing energy and passion to expand your knowledge and support UK business owners
- Training more junior members of the team
- A commitment to taking ownership of the bookkeeping function as a whole ensuring optimum standards are kept and maintained
- Work Allocation: 50% of your time to bookkeeping, 20% to management/training and 30% to management accounts preparation
