About The Company
The Company is a premier sporting goods and entertainment facility located in the Southeastern U.S., dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for our Guests. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented part-time Bookkeeper to join our finance team and contribute to our continued success.

Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled part-time Bookkeeper with extensive retail finance experience to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring comprehensive accounting and bookkeeping expertise, strong self-management abilities, excellence in maintaining financial controls and systems, and thrives in a challenging environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable communicating with both internal and external stakeholders, both accounting and operational. The position will work daily with the Senior Accountant for task supervision and daily oversight, and will report directly to the VP of Operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Full scope accounts payable processing, including vendor management and communication, matching to purchase records and receiving documents, verifying approvals, reconciliations to vendor statements, subledgers and following up on discrepancies
• Full scope accounts receivable processing, including billings, collections, customer communications, reconciliations to subledgers, and following up on discrepancies
• Establish and maintain accounting best practices, controls, and systems
• Bank reconciliations
• Other responsibilities may include calculating and posting journal entries for depreciation, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals and other adjustments
• Support the accounting team with research, account reconciliations or journal entries during monthly and annual financial statement closing
• Support the accounting team with process improvements to improve operational efficiency, accounting and reporting, including automation processes and software

Key Performance Objectives
• First 3 Months: Become proficient in the financial systems and the daily bookkeeping requirements, and support the Senior Accountant with tasks related to month end close.
• First 6 Months: Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement, working with and through the Senior Accountant

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
• Proven track record as an effective bookkeeper in retail or similar industry, in mid-size or large organizations ($10 million - $50 million annual revenues, USD)
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining personal and team effectiveness
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks Online, and other cloud-based accounting software
• Strong technology and computer skills
• Superior organizational, prioritization and time management skills
• Exceptional attention to detail, with a high numerical aptitude
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Preferred
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Public accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems and retail-specific accounting or inventory software
• Experience in retail and/or hospitality industries

Work Environment
• Part-time (25 hours per week), remote, independent contractor role
• Must provide your own equipment, and be prepared with a backup laptop and power supply in case of outages to avoid disruption in service
• Part-time shift must align within the organization’s eastern time zone working hours (8 am – 5 pm EST)
