JOB OVERVIEW

The Bookkeeper reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is a detail-oriented professional responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes performing reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger accounts, billing, and month-end processing. The bookkeeper will also be responsible for filing documents, preparing reconciliation statements, and running other reports as necessary.

Primary Duties

- Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Record daily financial transactions, ensuring that all entries are accurate and current.
- Accounts Receivable: Enter payments and collections to collect all receivables promptly.
- Accounts Payable: Review batches and monthly reports for validity, accuracy, and completeness and releasing the batches for payment
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and balance the general ledger by posting and verifying account transactions.
- Credit Card Reconciliation: Verify and match credit card transactions with the corresponding entries in the financial records to ensure proper allocation and consistency.
- Time & Expense Tracking: Monitor and track time and expenses, ensuring proper categorization and allocation.
- Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information as required.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in writing documentation of all processes and procedures as directed.
- Agreement True-ups: Process changes to all agreements as directed to ensure all billable quantities reflect reality.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a Managed Services or Services-Based industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., QuickBooks Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus.
- Financial Platform Experience:
Connectwise or similar PSA
Quickbooks or similar financial/accounting system
Bill.com or similar payment processor
- Proficiency: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data entry, financial record keeping, and ability to spot when something is off.
- Numbers Skillset: Proven ability and comfort to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Organizational Skillset: Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Written & Verbal Skillset: Articulate your thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written, and verbal communication
- Discretion: Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
