Hi! We are looking for a full-time Bookkeeper with relevant experience in the Legal Industry. As a Bookkeeper, your role will require you to use your expertise in accounting and bookkeeping to support the company's financial operations. You will also be responsible for ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date, as well as providing financial advice to management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record financial transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries
- Verify and reconcile financial statements, bank statements, and other financial reports
- Process invoices and payments, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate
- Conduct periodic audits of financial activities to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles
- Manage company budgets and provide regular reports to management
- Provide financial advice to management for decision-making purposes
- Keep up-to-date with tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with government agencies
- Prepare and review detailed settlement statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations and firm procedures.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members to ensure clear communication and accurate reporting.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quickbooks or Xero
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle confidential information
- Familiarity with tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
