About the Role:
Align Integrated Medical is seeking a Virtual Assistant – Insurance & Billing Coordinator to act as the key liaison between our clinic and our billing company (iMed). This role is vital in ensuring accurate payment posting, insurance verification, and revenue cycle management while supporting our clinic team with billing-related tasks and administrative support.
This position requires prior experience with medical or chiropractic billing, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Insurance & Billing Coordination
Verify insurance benefits (VOBs) for new and existing patients
Post insurance payments & adjustments to patient ledgers
Identify & resolve billing discrepancies, claim denials, and underpayments
Monitor & manage Accounts Receivable (A/R) reports to track unpaid claims
Attend monthly billing meetings with iMed & clinic leadership
Work closely with the front desk team to ensure timely claim submissions
Patient Ledger & Payment Posting
Review, clean up, and maintain patient ledgers for accuracy
Correct ledger errors and ensure proper allocations of patient payments
Assist with collections follow-ups in coordination with iMed
Generate financial reports on outstanding balances and reimbursement rates
Insurance Credentialing & Compliance
Assist with insurance credentialing, re-credentialing, and re-attestation
Keep records updated for provider contracts & payer enrollment
Ensure compliance with insurance policies & billing regulations
Administrative & EHR Support
Learn & navigate our clinic’s EHR software (ChiroTouch Cloud)
Communicate with tea
Assist with additional billing-related administrative tasks as needed
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience in chiropractic or medical billing (insurance verification, payment posting, AR management, etc.)
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills (able to coordinate with both clinic staff & billing company)
Proficient in EHR systems & billing software (experience with ChiroTouch is a plus!)
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Strong organizational skills & ability to meet deadlines
Familiarity with insurance credentialing & provider enrollment processes is a plus!
