We are looking for a highly-skilled Automation & Integration Engineer / System Administrator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, responsive, and has a strong background in system integration and automation. Key Responsibilities
- Be able to learn fast and adapt. We will often be trying new systems and tools, and you’ll need to adapt rapidly, be proactive
and be responsive. Having a solid foundation with data and coding will help.
- The primary job is to be able to build automations (e.g. with Make or Zapier) and to Integrate various systems and tools
using low-code, no-code, and some coding techniques. Every project will involve some combination of a data source (e.g.
Notion, AirTable, SQL Server), an automation platform (e.g. Zapier or Make) and some basic scripting/coding (e.g. SQL
queries to extract/transform data, in other cases use python to do some work). Many project will involve web-hooks.
- Develop automations with platforms such as Make or Zapier that run on a daily schedule. For example, create an
automation that connects to a SQL Server database running on a server or in Azure, executes a query, and inputs the
results into Google Sheets. So this task would involve Make, SQL, Google Sheets.
- You will be required to write "glue" code necessary for automation tasks using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash
scripts, JavaScript, and SQL. You don’t need to be a master coder, but must be comfortable writing code as required.
- Be comfortable with different data sources such as MS SQL Server, AirTable and others.
- Applicants that have experience with MS Power BI and MS SSRS for reporting and data visualization will be looked at
favourably.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automation, ideally an expert in either Zapier or Make.
- Proven experience as a systems engineer or system administrator who has used scripting and coding to manage systems
will be looked at favourably.
- Strong proficiency with automation platforms like Make or Zapier; please indicate your skill level (none, basic, advanced) in
your application.
- Familiarity with webhooks and basic scripting is essential.
- Comfort with SQL coding and database management tasks.
- Experience with the following tools is preferred; We know that it is unlikely any given candidate will know all of these
systems, and that is OK. Having knowledge of some and being willing to learn the others is what’s needed. For each of the
tools/systems below, please specify your skill level in each:
