An Asset Management Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing the performance and value of a real estate portfolio, primarily focused on multi-family assets and retail centers. This position provides hands-on financial analysis, portfolio management, and support for acquisitions and dispositions. The role requires strong analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and third-party stakeholders.

Objectives of this role:
• Maximize the value and income of the company’s real estate portfolio
• Provide accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting
• Assist in asset management initiatives
• Support due diligence and underwriting for new acquisitions
• Maintain organized financial data and operational tracking systems
• Perform various ad hoc analyses to support senior management team's strategic decision-making
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements, including Income Statements and Balance Sheets
• Update financial models with monthly financials and operational data to project future cash flows
• Attend bi-monthly operational calls with property management teams to monitor budget adherence
• Build and maintain databases and dashboards for portfolio tracking and analysis
• Request lender-held capital reserves for reimbursement of capital expenditures as needed
• Track and allocate insurance and real estate tax expenses accurately
• Oversee and manage various value-add initiatives within the retail portfolio
• Provide support in due diligence and underwriting for potential acquisitions
• Occasionally coordinate invoices and payments with internal accounting teams or third-party property management firms
• Perform administrative duties to support the Asset Management team
Required skills and qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of five years of experience in real estate, with a preference for asset management experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis
• Solid understanding of property budgets, asset performance, and valuation methodologies
• Ability to develop asset management strategies and provide data-driven recommendations
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and qualitative problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with teams
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred skills and qualifications
• Experience with real estate investment analysis software and accounting systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Yardi
• Exposure to revenue management systems such as Yieldstar and LRO
• Ability to quickly learn new software applications and adapt to evolving processes
