Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and train the accounting team, ensuring high standards of performance and collaboration.
Provide guidance and support to junior accountants and bookkeepers as they join the team.
Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting team activities and tasks, including preparation of financial reporting, tax returns, and other compliance activities.
Focus on Australian tax and superannuation fund management to ensure all regulations and deadlines are met.
Identify and implement improvements to existing accounting processes and systems.
Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and efficiency.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on Australian tax and superannuation fund management.
Proven track record in training and mentoring accounting staff.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a team.
High level of confidence and initiative, capable of independently running the accounting team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in Xero and XPM - Xero Certification
Xero Payroll
Experience with BGL360 and FYI Docs
