Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager who will be there for the long haul. This is a full-time long term job. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU HAVE OTHER JOBS.

Below is a list of responsibilities the Accounting Manager will be expected to own and/or participate in:

- General bookkeeping / Accounting
o Manage the books day-in / day-out, utilizing QuickBooks and other software tools. This includes all aspects of AR, AP, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, journal entries, etc.
o Manage all schedules, such as fixed assets and depreciation, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, etc.
o Perform accruals for contra-revenue and operational expense accounts
o Manage 3rd Party deduction team to ensure proper coding of account level data to be used in detailed customer-level and product-level rollups and analyses
Prepare quarterly and annual tax filings

- Financial Reporting and Support
o Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and procedures
o Assist in the identification and resolution of accounting discrepancies and irregularities o Work with the Controller on the month-end close process to provide accurate and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, in accordance with GAAP. This person will be expected to present the financials to the Controller
o Assist in preparation of monthly BvA analyses, cash flow forecasts, margin analyses, reconciliations, etc.
o Provide analytical cross-functional horsepower in the creation of ad-hoc reports, reconciliations, and other business analyses
- Collections and Payables
o Responsible for reconciling all incoming invoices, maintaining relationships with vendors, and ensuring all payments are delivered in a timely manner
o Work cross functionally with the sales team to maintain relationships with customers, prepare and send invoices, and manage collections in a timely manner
o Report on the status of AR and AP aging on a weekly basis

Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role is one who is hungry, willing to hit the ground running, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to challenge themself. The role will be fast paced and dynamic, requiring someone who has the ability to work on multiple projects at once, while also being organized. The Accounting Manager will often be asked to present their findings to the Director, Finance & Strategy and C-Suite executives, so strong communication is a must. Finally, being attentive to detail is absolutely critical as the Finance / Accounting team interfaces with many individuals, internally and externally, and represents its caliber of talent in everything it does.

- Degree from a 4-year college or university; BS or BA in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics is a plus
- 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment, preferably with food or beverage; public accounting experience being an absolute plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks, Upgrade to see actual info, retail customer portals is a plus
- Ability to balance a heavy workload, prioritize deliverables and maintain organization - A strong attention to detail in all analyses, reporting, and presentations
- Ability to work cross functionally with other departments
- Self-starter attitude with the hunger to learn and work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
- Ability to bring a fresh perspective with new ideas to the team
