Job Title: Accounting Associate

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Associate who holds a QuickBooks Online (QBO) ProAdvisor certification and has either an accounting degree or extensive work experience in accounting. This role is full-time and will require working during EST time zone for training 8am-12pm EST. The goal is for you to work a flexible schedule based on what works best for you to get good sleep and tend to your personal health and family. As long as you can be trusted to meet deadlines you get to choose your own schedule.
Job Description: As an Accounting Associate at B.D. Smith Financial Services, you will play a key role in managing financial operations and supporting the financial planning process. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of QuickBooks Online, be capable of creating accurate financial projections, and have strong attention to detail. While training will be provided, we seek a proactive individual who excels at meeting deadlines, is punctual, and communicates effectively. Some tasks will require meeting 24-hour deadlines, so time management is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain financial records using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
• Prepare and assist with financial projections and reports.
• Support tax preparation tasks (knowledge of U.S. tax preparation is a bonus).
• Ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
• Meet 24-hour deadlines on certain tasks as needed.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate to improve and optimize accounting processes.
Qualifications:
• QBO ProAdvisor Certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or substantial accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial projections and reporting.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, including 24-hour turnaround on some tasks.
• Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain clear communication.
• Knowledge of U.S. tax preparation is a plus but not required (We will train the right candidate)
• Self-motivated, punctual, and dependable.
Work Schedule:
• You will choose your own schedule but must be available for training during EST 8am-12pm. Training may not last that long or be everyday but it is required to meet during those times for training.
