Position: Accountant/Bookkeeper

Job Description:

Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and reconciling accounts.
Prepare and maintain financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments, invoicing, and accurate financial tracking.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing insights into financial performance and helping management make informed business decisions.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and help prepare tax returns, working with external accountants as needed.
Handle payroll processing and maintain payroll records, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees.
Maintain and track inventory costs, ensuring accurate reporting of stock levels and financial transactions related to inventory.
Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation and reports for audit purposes.
Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the company has the necessary funds to meet operational needs.
Assist in implementing financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Requirements:

Proven experience as an Accountant, Bookkeeper, or in a similar role, ideally within the fashion or retail industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other departments.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial data to non-financial staff.
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of fashion industry accounting practices is a plus.
