JOB OVERVIEW

Andrew Muller Creative (Upgrade to see actual info) is a small Agency on the West Coast. I’m Andrew – nice to meet you! My team is currently made up of a VA, a copywriter, and a few account strategists who are contractors. Unfortunately, we don’t have anyone who does media buying / Facebook ads full time, and it’s starting to become a problem with our clients. YOUR ROLE I need someone who is able to wake up every day, look over our client accounts, and ask themselves: “How can I make this account more profitable? How can I improve the performance and take it to the next level?” STRATEGY like this usually involves a small mental loop: Analyze: what do you see in our current data? ~~~“Our conversion rate on the landing page is good at over 15%, but our CPC is just way too high.” Insight: make an explanation for why our ads perform well (or perform poorly). ~~~” Our highest converting ad has a low CTR, which is why the CPC is so high” Recommendation: now make a recommendation on how to fix this problem. ~~~” we should test new lead-ins for our top converting ad to try and get something a bit stickier, and then put our winners above our high-converting ad. That way, we will keep the high conversion rate, but more people will be interested in our ad. Rinse & Repeat On top of doing this sort of strategy, we also need someone to do general media buying. My current VA can publish Facebook ad tests for simpler tests, but you would also step in and help as needed. There may be more complicated tests that require a bit more judgment and “on the spot” thinking – you need to be capable of problem-solving. Since you’Upgrade to see actual info used Facebook Ads before, you will be very familiar with how often the system breaks and requires some sort of workaround. Here are some other thing’s I’m looking for in an ideal candidate: -Thoroughness – Facebook has a LOT of little nooks and crannies where things can go wrong. Perhaps an account needs verification, but you would never see this unless you were looking in the business manager. I have trained myself to look out for these sorts of things because they can really screw up an account. You should be the type of person who would do this. -Data analytics/Performance Reporting [be able to generate reports for our internal team as well as for clients, that are readable and easily show the numbers the client actually NEEDS to know] -If you’re able to help configure reporting dashboards using something like Google Data Studio or another software that can make it easier for us to make sure we’re meeting our client’s goals, that would be very useful. -Copywriting (we have a copywriter on staff, but we may ask you to make small tweaks or do some writing yourself) -Speak up! – I have worked with a Filipino VA for around 4 years, and I know one of the difficulties is just speaking up if there’s a problem. If there’s a task you’re not sure how to do - please raise a hand right away so I can help! -Market research – a very important skill. Research competitor companies, analyze their offers and see if there’s anything that we could improve upon. Our clients trust us for advice and recommendations, and we can even recommend they change the way they do business if we don’t think that it’s working. -Codewords – please put the word “pizza” in the subject line or first line of your application. This is to weed out candidates who haven’t read this ad, or who just skimmed the Upgrade to see actual infoually, about 50% of the people who apply will fail to put this, so if you’re reading this you’re already in the top 50% of candidates ???? ???? -Ad research – check what types of ads other advertisers are running and come up with a strategy to copy them or combine their ad with our client’s offer. -Understanding of general marketing. Avatars, offer, top/middle/bottom of the funnel. This is a must-have. -Attention to detail – errors in the ad that don’t reflect our client will make us look bad. I need someone who is willing to dig into each client, understand them deeply, and make sure we don’t publish anything that doesn’t fit with them. -Strategic thinking – maybe we’re driving leads for cheap, but the leads are low quality and won’t actually make money. A strategic thinker will be able to view our advertising work inside the larger context and make decisions from a high-level vantage point. -Web development – a little bit of experience here is helpful but still optional. We do most of our landing pages in Unbounce, which is pretty easy to train on. But if you have web development experience, I would recommend mentioning it in your application. -Regular education. Facebook is constantly moving forward, and being able to keep on top of the trends is important. I am subscribed to certain highly-paid masterminds that I may ask you to attend over Zoom for me. Upgrade to see actual info’s not necessary that you already know how to use this software, but it may be important in the future as you’re analyzing ad accounts. I can train you on how to use this software to improve your skills over time. -Communication – we communicate over slack. There will be weekly check-ins and regular daily communication. You would be responsible for checking in with the tasks you’re working on each day, and recording clearly what you did with each hour you worked. At the end of the day, what I really want is someone who will take our client’s accounts to the next level. I’m great at selling clients and bringing them in, but I’m not the greatest COO in the world, so I could use someone who is forward-thinking and proactive. You would be responsible for somewhere between 3-10 accounts at a time. This job is anywhere from 15-40 hours per week. Most of our accounts have limitless potential (I organize deals where we get paid a percentage of their revenue after we hit certain milestones), so if you want to spend extra time on a particular account in order to make it perform better – GO FOR IT! You can even work more than 40 hours a week so long as your time is accounted for (we do a daily email / slack message with the tasks you worked on that day).
