JOB OVERVIEW

Do you love to write? Do you love to research? Do you love finding great images online and sharing them? We've got the job for you!

We are Hawk Group Media, and we run several very popular English-language sites, including DIYReady.com, SurvivalLife.com, Makeuptutorials.com, and many more. We need your help writing and creating amazing content for these sites! We make tutorials, viral videos, big beautiful infographics, and so much more.

You will have very clear assignments each week of what we need you to write about. You will be required to meet deadlines and work closely with a team leader in the US. We'd prefer you work by US hours (Pacific Standard Time) but recognize this can be difficult and will not require that of the right people.

I would suggest you go poke around some of these sites and see what is there. You will have to make at least 2-3 a day of the posts you see! Can you do it? Can you do it well?

You'll need a computer, of course. Doesn't need to be an amazing computer but needs to be able to handle basic graphic editing and the like. You'll need a dedicated internet connection that is reliable. And you will need to be sure to respond promptly to emails as soon as you see them!

English writing skills is obviously pretty important too.

Since our editorial process focuses heavily on SEO, we prefer someone with experience using SEO programs to help with blog content. But we will train the right people.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is willing to learn. We are not a conventional company, so we do not expect conventional candidates. We want someone who can grow with us and not only learn our processes but help us improve them with out-of-the-box ideas.
Basic Qualifications

· 2 years editorial or writing experience
· Must be fluent in English
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
· Self-motivated – if you have to be or want to be told what to do everyday, do not apply.
· Great analytical thinking and willingness to engage with metrics
· Previous experience writing copy for advertising agencies or commercials
· Familiarity with Word Press.
· Thick Skinned. No sugar coated criticism here.
· Team player.
· Don't need a lot of hand-holding.
· Ability to make posts beautifully aesthetic, informational, and interesting through appropriate images.

What now? We'd like to see you complete a very simple test project with your job application. First, go look at the basic structure of this blog post we recently published:

http://diyready.com/diy-crafts-string-art-tutorial/

This is a long one (not all of them are that long). But notice how it has a title, an introduction, a supply list, and then it talks about EACH STEP you have to do to complete the project.

Now, go here:

http://www.lovethispic.com/image/24019/diy-neon-cross-pillow

These are JUST photos. We'd like to see what kind of tutorial you can come up with for this based on these photos. We don't expect it to be perfect, but see if you can make a write-up based on what you see. What are we making? Why? What do we need? Then walk us through each step as you see it based on the photos there.

Send that along with your resume and any other info to Alecs Garcia
