JOB OVERVIEW

I’m looking for a thoughtful, experienced WordPress developer to join my 22-year-old boutique web development agency on a freelance basis. You should have solid Divi skills and a detail-oriented approach, with the ability to follow instructions carefully while bringing your own professional insight to the table.

The ideal candidate has experience working in an agency or for high-standard clients, and understands that we're not just banging out basic brochure sites—we’re often working with custom-built, established websites that require a high level of care.

Core Responsibilities:
Figma to Divi: Converting designs into clean, responsive Divi builds (no need for pixel-perfect, but attention to structure, layout, and styling consistency is essential).

Full-site builds: Using supplied content and brand assets to structure full websites. This includes setting up Divi presets and global styling for cohesive, client-editable design.

Template-based builds: Customizing Divi templates using client-supplied text and branding. This requires a bit of flair—balancing design sense and brand coherence without a detailed mockup.

Adding to existing websites: Expanding live client sites while maintaining design integrity and reusing existing site styles rather than rebuilding from scratch.

Ongoing maintenance: General updates, improvements, and troubleshooting across a variety of live WordPress sites.

About You:
You have deep knowledge of Divi, including presets, reusable elements, and how to build smart, lean pages.

You’re thorough with a great eye for detail—nothing sloppy or rushed.

You can follow instructions precisely, but you also know how to ask smart questions when something’s unclear.

You’re honest with your time. I’ve been outsourcing for 20+ years—I can spot inflated hours a mile away. If you're tracking accurately and fairly, we’ll get along great.

You’re a problem-solver and not just a builder. I love working with people who try different approaches, not just do the bare minimum.

You're communicative, respectful, and genuinely collaborative—someone who’s easy to work with over the long term.

Availability & Work Style:
This is not a fixed-hour job. We’ll start with a few test tasks to get a feel for how we work together. From there, there’s enough ongoing work available to grow into full-time (or as many hours as you want to take on).
You don’t need to be in my time zone—autonomy is more important than overlap. What matters most is reliability, clear communication, and quality work.

Flexibility & Growth:
I understand that no one is perfect at everything. If you’re strong in some areas (e.g. template customization or Figma builds) and still learning in others (e.g. Divi presets or design interpretation), please mention that in your application. I’m happy to adapt workload to match your strengths or offer training to build up the areas you're less confident in—what matters most is your attitude, integrity, and willingness to grow.

I myself thrive in a highly creative and strategic role and need someone who can take ownership of technical execution. My goal is to transition into a more visionary role while entrusting the right person with keeping things running smoothly. If you’re proactive, dependable, and excited about creating high-quality websites, this could be a great fit.

If this sounds like you apply with:
A brief intro outlining your past experience and strengths
Your 3 best Divi sites
Any notes on your availability, time zone, and what kind of work excites you most

Looking forward to finding someone awesome to collaborate with long-term.
