We are an engineering services company supporting a variety of mechanical design and product development projects. As our client base continues to grow, we’re looking for a highly experienced mechanical engineer to assist with advanced design decisions, oversee junior designers, and perform finite element analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects involving sheet metal, machined components, plastic injection-molded parts, and more — including the design of multi-part mechanical assemblies and mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee engineering projects and prioritize work for the design team
- Mentor and review the work of design engineers, providing technical direction and quality control
- Design mechanical mechanisms and assemblies involving multiple moving or interacting parts
- Select appropriate mechanical components (bearings, springs, linear guides, fasteners, etc.) from online sources and suppliers as needed
- Perform multibody FEA (static analysis) in SolidWorks Simulation (not just single-body)
- Review manufacturing drawings (GD&T, tolerances, etc.)
- Provide design input on a variety of mechanical systems and components
- Understand materials and processes (CNC, welding, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.)
- Analyze and size bolted joints and other common engineering features
- Draft technical responses and reports for clients, using AI as a support tool (final reporting/communication will be handled by U.S.-based lead engineer)
- Communicate regularly with the U.S.-based lead engineer
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- SolidWorks Simulation 2025 (clarify if already have or if need it to be provided), preference is if the candidate already has it.
- Proficient in multibody FEA techniques
- Experienced in designing mechanical mechanisms and multi-part assemblies
- Able to identify and select real-world components online for integration into designs
- Familiar with modern manufacturing methods
- Highly detail-oriented
- Reliable internet connection
- Comfortable using SharePoint for file sharing and Slack for communication
Perks:
- Flexible work schedule
- Long-term opportunity with consistent work
- Opportunity to grow with the company and take on leadership roles
To Apply:
- Submit your updated CV or résumé
- To confirm you’ve read the full posting, include the word “srmeng” at the top of your application.
- Include examples of your work relevant to this job description (drawings, FEA reports, mechanism designs, etc.)
- Specify your current SolidWorks version (e.g., SolidWorks Premium 2025)
