Job Description
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our team. In this role, you will assist with administrative tasks related to tax preparation, client management, and bookkeeping operations. The ideal candidate is proficient in managing documents, maintaining accurate financial records, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Full Cycle Bookkeeping:
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, such as data entry, bank reconciliations, and transaction categorization.
- Journal entries, adjusting journal entries, closing entries.
- Help generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Ensure that all financial data is accurate and properly organized for tax preparation.
Tax Administrative Support:
- Review, organize, file, and manage tax documents, including client submissions and IRS correspondence.
- Schedule appointments, track deadlines, and maintain the tax team's calendar.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients to collect required tax documents and respond to basic inquiries.
- Prepare and send engagement letters, invoices, and follow-up communications to clients.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with tax preparers, accountants, and other admin assistants to ensure smooth workflows.
- Provide administrative support to any of the team members or managers.
- Willingness to work extended hours during tax season and tax deadlines.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Strong bookkeeping experience (minimum of 2 years), preferably in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Basic understanding of US tax preparation processes.
- Proficiency with bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and office tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with tax preparation software is a plus (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive client information with confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Should be a team player and a fast learner.
- Experience working with US clients preferred.
