Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant – Temple Mother Earth

About Us
Temple Mother Earth is a nonprofit spiritual and healing organization based in Washington, DC. We facilitate community events, healing ceremonies, and educational programs focused on holistic well-being. We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to help manage our finances and ensure accurate financial records.

Responsibilities
Maintain and update financial records, including income, expenses, and donations
Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
Prepare financial reports and summaries as needed
Assist in processing invoices, payments, and reimbursements
Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial policies and best practices
Provide support for tax filings and financial audits
Other bookkeeping and accounting-related tasks as assigned

Requirements
Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar role
Proficiency in QuickBooks (preferred) or similar accounting software
Strong knowledge of financial management and bookkeeping principles
Experience working with nonprofits (a plus, but not required)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Excellent English communication skills
