Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to manage financial records and support accounting operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial data, supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes, and assisting with tax filings and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and capable of managing financial tasks efficiently while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping & Reconciliation
Maintain up-to-date financial records for accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL).
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial transactions to ensure accurate reporting.
Categorize and track transactions, ensuring proper classification for tax and accounting purposes.
Invoicing & Payroll Support
Process and manage invoicing for clients and vendors, ensuring timely collections and payments.
Assist in payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Generate financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Support tax filings, such as sales tax filings, 1099 vendor tracking, and regulatory compliance.
Assist in the preparation for audits and support financial process improvement initiatives.
Collaboration & Technology Integration
Use accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, FreshBooks, or Zoho Books to manage records.
Work with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) to track data, analyze financial performance, and generate reports.
Utilize cloud document management systems like Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive for record-keeping and auditing purposes.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting (experience in real estate, construction, healthcare, or logistics is a plus).
Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Bookkeeping certification or equivalent qualifications (such as AIPB, ACCA).
Technical & Software Proficiency
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or FreshBooks.
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, financial formulas, and data analysis).
Experience with payroll software (ADP, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll) is a plus.
Soft Skills & Attributes
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies in financial data.
Problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
Reliability, integrity, and a commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken (7.5/10 proficiency).

Nice-to-Haves
Experience with Buildium or property management accounting software.
Audit preparation and understanding of process improvements.
International tax compliance knowledge.
Experience working with U.S.-based clients or multinational companies.
