Overview:
We’re seeking a highly skilled Fractional CFO to support the financial systems implementation plan developed from a recent audit by our financial advisory partner. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong accounting systems experience, financial strategy insights, and the ability to manage performance check-ins.

Phase 1: Systems Implementation (First 30–60 Days)
Objective: Help us build out the internal financial systems and processes from the Drake Check Assessment.
Responsibilities:
Review and refine our internal audit checklis
Assist in building a monthly close SOP tailored to our operations
Help implement financial dashboards (cash flow, KPIs, project margins, AR/AP aging, etc.)
Clean up QuickBooks Online:
Clear suspense accounts (“Ask My Accountant,” “Ask My Client”)
Organize “Undeposited Funds” and depreciation tracking
Reclassify COGS to appropriate job/project
Assist bookkeeper in implementing a spend management system (e.g., Ramp)
Audit outstanding AR and AP, categorize risk levels
Provide feedback on cash conversion cycle, overdue AR/AP, and client concentration risk
Guide creation of accurate monthly cash flow forecasts

Phase 2: Ongoing Monthly Oversight (Starting Month 2–3)
Objective: Ensure accountability, consistent reporting, and continued process improvement.
Responsibilities:
Lead monthly financial review meetings with the CEO and bookkeeper
Review KPIs, budget-to-actuals, cash flow forecasts, project profitability
Track and update financial health scorecard
Review account reconciliations and assist with corrections as needed
Provide advisory on budget adjustments, hiring forecasts, and margin targets
Make recommendations to optimize profitability and cash flow
Prepare monthly summary reports and implementation checklists
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a CFO, finance manager, or controller (preferably with small construction firms)
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Excel,
Experience with cash flow forecasting, job costing, and dashboarding
Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial staff
Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and proactive communicator
