JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing accounting team. As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate billing, collection, and reconciliation of customer accounts. You will play a vital role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

Billing and Invoicing:
Generate and distribute accurate and timely invoices to customers based on established billing schedules and terms.
Review and verify the accuracy of billing data and resolve any discrepancies.
Maintain a thorough understanding of our pricing structure and customer agreements.
Collections:
Proactively contact customers regarding past-due invoices and payment arrangements.
Negotiate payment plans with customers while adhering to company policies.
Document all collection efforts and communication with customers in a clear and concise manner.
Escalate delinquent accounts to the appropriate internal stakeholders for further action.
Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Investigate and resolve customer inquiries regarding billing or payment issues.
Process customer payments and apply them accurately to their accounts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records in our accounting system.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and distribute regular accounts receivable aging reports.
Analyze AR data to identify trends and potential issues.
Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting policies and procedures.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with customers.
Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Proven experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting role (minimum [Number] years).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
