We are a rapidly growing e-commerce company seeking a results-driven and highly experienced Director of Amazon Marketplace Operations to lead our Amazon growth strategy while ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution across two key areas: Advertising & Paid Media (PPC) and Marketplace Operations & Strategy.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Amazon Seller Central with a proven track record of managing successful paid advertising campaigns and optimizing marketplace operations. You will oversee Amazon PPC strategy, sales growth, global expansion, inventory optimization, and P&L management. This role demands a balance between advertising expertise and operational efficiency to drive sustainable marketplace success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advertising & PPC Media Buying
- Work with the Marketing Team to develop and implement Amazon PPC and sponsored ad strategies to maximize ROI.
- Analyze and adjust ad spend allocation to maintain a strong balance between sales growth and profitability.
- Monitor ACoS, TACoS, CTR, CVR, and ROAS to optimize ad efficiency.
- Stay ahead of Amazon Advertising algorithm changes, trends, and industry best practices.
2. Marketplace Operations & Strategy
- Own and manage our US Amazon operations and expand into international marketplaces (Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, etc.).
- Oversee product listings, SEO optimization, pricing strategy, and brand presence to maximize visibility and conversions.
- Analyze sales performance, customer insights, and competition to develop data-driven growth strategies.
- Ensure operational efficiency by managing inventory forecasting, order fulfillment, and supply chain coordination.
- Maintain compliance with Amazon policies while identifying opportunities for optimization.
3. P&L & Financial Analysis
- Manage full P&L responsibility, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking for all Amazon operations.
- Optimize pricing, profitability, and ad spend allocation to maximize bottom-line growth.
- Collaborate with finance, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure cost efficiency and margin optimization.
4. Vendor & Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms for optimal margins.
- Collaborate with agencies and service providers for PPC, SEO, and operational support.
5. Leadership, Cross-Team Collaboration & Reporting
- Lead a high-performing team to execute Amazon growth strategies effectively.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, marketing, product, and finance teams to ensure all Amazon initiatives align with broader business goals.
- Develop SOPs and scalable processes for continued growth and operational efficiency.
- Generate and analyze sales reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve performance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven experience managing Amazon Seller Central accounts with a minimum annual revenue of $20M.
- Hands-on experience in Amazon PPC and Advertising strategy (keyword research, bid optimization, campaign scaling).
- Strong background in Amazon marketplace operations, inventory management, and international expansion.
- Proficiency in Amazon tools such as Seller Central, FBA, Amazon Advertising, Helium 10, Perpetua, or other ad automation tools.
- Expertise in SEO, keyword ranking, A+ Content, and conversion rate optimization.
- Strong analytical skills, experience with P&L ownership, financial forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Ability to stay updated with Amazon’s evolving algorithms, compliance rules, and marketplace trends.
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA in Business, Marketing, or Finance (preferred but not required).
- Experience with additional e-commerce platforms (eBay, Walmart, Shopify).
- Certification in Amazon Advertising, Project Management, or Six Sigma.
- Background in supply chain, demand planning, and vendor negotiations.

This role follows a fixed US Eastern Standard Time schedule, requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.
