JOB OVERVIEW

I'm looking for a web developer, someone who knows code, how the backend of a website works, how to make speed improvements, how to ensure websites are indexed correctly, how website tags should best be structured for SEO and more. If you are not experienced in this, this role is not for you.

I pride myself on integrity, honesty and good quality work and I'm looking for someone who has those same qualities.

You will have a strong desire to learn, I can teach you some things about the on-page and technical SEO aspects of this job, but you must already have a solid foundation in web development and SEO. The right person is more important than years of experience, but you do need to have some existing skills and SEO knowledge.

I am an SEO Specialist working in the UK who works with a range of companies worldwide including national brands and international companies, but there's too much work for me alone.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

- Technical fixes
- HTML coding
- Creating landing pages
- Speed improvements as recommended by Google PageSpeed Insights
- On-page optimisation
- Optimising blog posts and adding meta descriptions
- Various analysis and tracking
- Google Search Console analysis and fixing or errors
- Using tools like Ahrefs and Screaming Frog for technical improvements
- Running technical audits and fixing errors
- Use of and reporting from various other tools

Fluent English is important.

The ideal applicant will have experience in building websites using SEO best-practice, you will prefer the technical side of SEO to link building. You will enjoy repetitive tasks, running audits, looking at code and making subtle on-page updates. You will be a detail-focused person who is able to follow instructions well. You will enjoy finding errors on an audit and systematically working through them to bring the number down to zero.

Most of the websites I work with use Squarespace, Laravel, Shopify, Wordpress or similar CMS.

I'm open to this job being part-time or full-time depending on the candidate, potentially starting part-time and with a chance to move to full-time in future, and I'm looking for it to be a long-term thing.

In your proposal, start the first line with "red spiders" so that I know you have read the full job description.

Thanks
Dan
