Game Translator (Chinese to English)

FanYou Ph is seeking experienced professionals in the translation/localization field to join our team in developing games.

As a Game Translator, you will play a vital role in game adaptation for different languages and cultures. Thus, inviting you, should you be well-knowledgeable in the Chinese language and culture plus an avid online gamer, to become part of our growing team!


QUALIFICATION:
- Native or with a strong grasp of English grammar, idioms, and vocabulary, (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- Have reached the level of Chinese-HSK 6 language certification. Foreign language skills need not be fluent but rather be used for work only.
- Deep understanding of Chinese cultural nuances. Strong familiarity with the local cultural habits,
- Experience of studying abroad for foreign language study is a plus,
- Professional experience in general localization/translation from CN to the English language and with COPYWRITING skills- a plus,
- Preferably, a game enthusiast with long player experience in various genres of online mobile or PC games, and a good understanding of the operation mode of the local player community; and
- Proven experience in game localization/translation or with love and a good knowledge of the gaming and game development industry- a crucial advantage


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translation and adaptation of in-game text, dialogues, instructions, subtitles, menus, and user interface elements
- Manage the local player community on Upgrade to see actual info, Telegram, etc.
- Independently complete game translation from Chinese to English,


Location: Cebu IT Park, Cebu City, Philippines (ONSITE ONLY)
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
