About the Role

The Data Engineer/Technical Account Manager serves as a critical link between our customers and our technical systems. You'll handle technical support requests, manage customer accounts, and use your technical skills to automate processes, create monitoring alerts, and solve complex problems efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support and Customer Service

- Handle technical support requests and inquiries, providing guidance on platform features, integrations, and troubleshooting
- Guide clients through technical aspects of our products, including setup and configuration
- Create and manage PostgreSQL queries to investigate customer issues and extract data
- Develop and implement automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks
- Create and maintain monitoring alerts in AWS and other platforms to proactively identify potential issues
- Set up and configure internal tools, requiring investigative skills and experience with APIs
- Collaborate with development teams to isolate bugs and verify fixes
- Take on junior-level development tasks based on capability and interest

Customer Lifecycle Management

- Assist in technical onboarding processes, including system configurations and third-party integrations
- Set up and configure system components to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Manage technical aspects of customer offboarding, including data migration and account deactivation
- Handle deliverability issues by monitoring systems and working with internal and external support teams
- Address technical blocks or errors, communicating with clients and resolving issues promptly

Technical Documentation and Knowledge Base

- Contribute to internal and external knowledge bases with technical documentation
- Document common issues and solutions to build a comprehensive self-service resource
- Create step-by-step guides for technical processes

Technical Account Administration

- Assist with technical aspects of billing and account management
- Use database queries to verify account status and usage metrics
- Support internal teams with technical data and insights using tools like PostgreSQL, Retool, and internal systems

Skills and Qualifications

Required

- Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic SQL knowledge, particularly PostgreSQL, for querying and data analysis
- Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures accurately
- Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Slack, email, and ticketing systems

Preferred

- Experience with scripting languages (Python, TypeScript, etc.) for automation
- Familiarity with API integrations and webhooks
- Understanding of AWS monitoring tools and alert systems
- Experience setting up and configuring internal tools
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, REST APIs)
- Experience in a technical support or customer success role
