Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Intake/ Dispatcher to join our client's healthcare team.
As a Medical Intake/ Dispatcher, you will be responsible for gathering and processing patient information efficiently and accurately.
This role requires proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, particularly Athena, to manage patient records and streamline intake processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Intake: Conduct patient intake interviews either in person or over the phone to collect and verify demographic and insurance information.
EMR System Management: Utilize the Athena EMR system to enter and update patient data, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility through Athena, resolving any discrepancies or issues.
Appointment Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments and update the EMR system accordingly.
Medical Records: Maintain electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Communication: Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient intake and follow-up processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in medical intake or a related role.
Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, with specific experience in Athena strongly preferred.
Proficient in Zendesk
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Understanding of medical terminology and insurance procedures.
Capability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Requirements:
• Comfortable using time tracker tools like Time Doctor.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
• High-speed internet and backup, noise-canceling headset, and computer with webcam.
