Virtual Rockstar is seeking a full-time Medical Biller to join our client’s home speech and occupational therapy team. If you’re a proactive, detail-oriented individual who enjoys solving problems and collaborating in a fun, friendly, and open environment, we’d love to hear from you!

About Working With Us:

We strive to make our workplace fun, friendly, and relaxed. You’ll work closely with our current biller to ensure the smooth operation of billing and administrative tasks. Responsibilities:

Call insurance companies for new intake benefits and check benefits using online insurance provider portals
Enter patient benefits, insurance, billing, and authorization information into PracticePro EMR
Collect member cost-share and maintain billing records
Investigate claim denials and follow up with insurance companies
Submit corrected claims as needed
Track authorizations and ensure timely submission
Create and send appeals via Claim MD
Answer FAQs from parents via email when possible
Monitor voicemails and follow up with parents via email
Follow up on declined credit card transactions
Maintain and update the billing spreadsheet and deductible/coinsurance spreadsheet
Track cancellations and associated charges
Handle miscellaneous phone calls and projects as they arise

Qualifications:

Previous experience in medical billing or coding
Proficient in using practice management software (experience with PracticePro EMR or similar platforms is a plus)
Familiarity with insurance provider portals and handling insurance verification
Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures and insurance terminology
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Detail-oriented with the ability to spot discrepancies and errors
Proactive problem-solving abilities and comfort in taking initiative
Comfort with remote work and using digital tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Claim MD
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative mindset
