JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Receptionist / Intake Coordinator to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, handling patient intake, verifying insurance, and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills to provide exceptional service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Intake & Front Desk Management
Greet and check in patients with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
Ensure all necessary forms are completed accurately and updated in the system.
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
Manage high volumes of calls, inquiries, and appointment requests.
Administrative & Office Support
Maintain and organize patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Process copayments, invoices, and handle basic billing inquiries.
Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient flow.
Assist in preparing reports, documentation, and office correspondence.
Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming front desk environment.
Insurance & Compliance
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before appointments.
Assist with prior authorizations and referrals as needed.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
Educate patients on office policies, procedures, and financial responsibilities.

Qualifications & Requirements
? Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a meHEALdical office, clinic, or healthcare facility.
? Technical Skills: Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Kareo, AthenaHealth) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
? Insurance Knowledge: Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical billing processes is a plus.
? Soft Skills: Excellent customer service, communication, and multitasking abilities.
? Detail-Oriented: Ability to handle confidential information and maintain accuracy in patient records.
? Preferred: Bilingual candidates (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.) are a plus.
