JOB OVERVIEW

Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Full-Stack WordPress Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in WordPress development, both front-end and back-end, with a focus on building and optimizing custom themes, plugins, and integrations. You will collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers to deliver high-performance and scalable WordPress solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins to meet business needs.
Optimize WordPress websites for speed, performance, and security.
Implement custom functionality using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Troubleshoot and debug WordPress-related issues, ensuring high uptime and reliability.
Strong experience with MySQL database management, query optimisation, and troubleshooting performance issues.
Ensure website accessibility, SEO best practices, and responsive design.
Implement and maintain automated testing and deployment pipelines.
Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, security updates, and industry best practices.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Full-Stack WordPress Developer.
Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and MySQL.
Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Alpine.js is a plus.
Understanding of SEO, performance optimisation, and caching techniques.
Experience with indexing, caching strategies (Redis, Memcached), and database scaling techniques for high-traffic WordPress sites.
Knowledge of WordPress security best practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud hosting (SiteGround) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with headless WordPress using React or Next.js.
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for WordPress.
Experience optimizing database performance for large WordPress sites, including handling large datasets and MySQL performance tuning. For example, optimising slow queries, managing custom post types with large datasets.
Contributions to the WordPress open-source community are a plus.
