Our optometry office seeks a Virtual Assistant for medical scribing. The ideal candidate has exceptional English, speaking and writing. Typing speed must be quick and accurate to keep up while scribing. Other duties would include various office admin tasks when not scribing for the doctor. Direct communication with patients for the doctor may also be necessary - so spoken English must be very fluent, and the accent as neutral as possible. VA must have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to learn quickly, and a solid commitment to consistency. There will be constant communication with the doctor, owners, and managers of the company every day.
Your primary duties will include:
* Daily scribing during optometry exams, via auto/video remote access
* Prepare charts before exams.
* Finish charts and sending post-exam reports
* Communicating with patients over the phone from time to time to schedule, reschedule, and book appointments.
* Managing various office admin tasks when not scribing
* Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
* Other duties may include running reports, data entry, and other administrative tasks. This job description is not comprehensive, and duties, responsibilities, and activities may change over time.
Qualifications Required:
* Typing speed of at least 50+ wpm
* Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is a plus
* Ability to work as a team as well as independently
* Outstanding problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
* Experience working remotely and utilizing telecommunication tools
* Fluent spoken and written English is a must. Spoken English should be as neutral as possible
* Availability to work during US Central Time work hours
* Minimum internet speed of 40 MBPS (upload/download)
* Located in a major metro area to assure internet/electricity consistency
* Have backup electricity and internet
* Highly reliable computer, Windows operating system
