MORTGAGE SERVICING – PROPERTY INSURANCE SPECIALIST

I. JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Escrow Manager, the Mortgage Servicing – Property Insurance Specialist handles those functions which require a broader knowledge of both loan servicing and property insurance.
II. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Audit Outsource Vendor for compliance with Investor and Supreme Lending property insurance guidelines.
• Audit current and future insurance payments via manual disbursement or through automated billing. Research exception
items.
• Promptly research and close tasks on a daily basis within departmental guidelines.
• Audit portfolio to ensure that all properties are properly tracked by Outsource Vendor.
• Review daily/monthly reports and take appropriate corrective action.
• Track outstanding checks generated to insurance carriers, perform follow-up and take corrective action.
• Prepare weekly/monthly status reports using spreadsheets and/or word based on information from the servicing system
and Outsource Vendor.
• Research and deposit refund checks issued by insurance carriers to borrower accounts.
• Develop correspondence needed to respond to customer inquiries.
• Evaluate department procedures to effectively maximize productivity and make suggestions for improvements.
• Monitor lender placed insurance process.
• Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in the mortgage servicing/escrow area.
