We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Associate to join our team and play a critical role in our client’s continued growth.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Financial Associate to partner directly with the client’s founder and CEO. This is a dynamic role that blends financial analysis with operational support, providing invaluable insights to drive strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for managing key financial processes, developing insightful financial models, and providing critical support to our sales-driven growth strategy. This position requires flexibility with East Coast working hours.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:
- Manage and maintain accurate accounting records, including accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger entries, including overseeing and checking the company’s bookkeeper’s work
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Develop and manage the company’s budget, forecasting revenue and expenses.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all US relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.

Financial Modeling & Analysis:
- Build and maintain complex financial models to project future growth, assess profitability, and evaluate investment opportunities.
- Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of different business decisions.
- Develop and present financial reports and presentations to the founder and other stakeholders.
- Analyze sales data and metrics to provide insights into sales performance and identify areas for improvement.

Business Operations Support:
- Assist with the development and implementation of operational processes and procedures.
- Support the founder with ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed.
- Assist with sales operations, including tracking sales performance and analyzing sales data.

Help with streamlining internal processes.
- Sales Driven focus:
- Understand and analyze sales data and its effect on the financial health of the company.
- Work closely with the sales team to provide financial insight into sales performance.
- Help create financial models to project sales growth.

Cost Management & Analysis:
- Analyze and monitor costs across all cost centers to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Develop and implement cost control measures.
- Provide detailed cost analysis reports, highlighting variances and trends.
- Work with department heads to manage and optimize departmental budgets.
- Identify and track cost drivers.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or business operations, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero), financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel), and CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with sales-driven business models is highly preferred.
- Must be able to work East Coast hours a portion of the time.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and be able to adapt quickly.
