The Part-Time Remote HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes at MEDirect. This role will manage HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation and compliance, compensation and benefits administration, and HR reporting, all while working remotely. A critical component of this role is managing the HR aspects of ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA compliance, including policy development, implementation, and audit management. The HR Manager will be the first point of contact for all HR-related inquiries and will ensure compliance with Philippine labour laws and regulations. This position requires a proactive and organised individual who can work independently and effectively in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Recruitment and Onboarding:
o Manage the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting interviews (primarily virtual), and making job offers.
o Develop and implement an effective onboarding process for new remote employees, ensuring they are properly integrated into the company culture and have the necessary resources.
o Ensure new staff are fully trained on ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
• Employee Relations:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
o Mediate and resolve employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent treatment.
o Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
o Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances, as needed.
• Performance Management:
o Administer the performance review process, providing guidance to managers and employees.
o Develop and implement performance improvement plans, when necessary.
o Identify training and development needs for employees.
• Policy Implementation and Compliance:
o Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with Philippine labour laws.
o Ensure all HR practices are compliant with relevant regulations, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and DOLE requirements.
o Stay up-to-date on changes in labour laws and best practices.
o Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures required for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA compliance. This includes policies related to data security, confidentiality, background checks, access controls, and employee training.
o Actively manage the HR aspects of internal and external audits related to ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA compliance. This includes preparing documentation, coordinating with auditors, and addressing any findings or non-conformities.
o Ensure all employees receive appropriate training on security awareness, data privacy, and compliance requirements related to ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
• Compensation and Benefits Administration:
o Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
o Manage payroll processing (or coordinate with a payroll provider).
o Handle employee inquiries related to compensation and benefits.
• HR Reporting and Administration:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
o Generate HR reports and metrics as needed.
o Manage HR-related documentation and filing.
o Manage and use HRIS to generate reports.
• HR Systems:
o Manage and implement an HRIS: Zoho People

• Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognised Philippine university or college.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in a generalist HR role, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
o Proven experience managing HR functions in a remote work environment is highly desirable.
o Experience working in a [Specify Industry, if applicable – e.g., "technology," "healthcare," "BPO"] company in the Philippines is preferred.
o Demonstrated experience with implementing and maintaining HR-related controls for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and/or HIPAA compliance or similar is required.
• Knowledge and Skills:
o Thorough understanding of Philippine labour laws and regulations (including DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
o Strong experience with the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
o Proven ability to handle employee relations issues with sensitivity and confidentiality.
o Experience with performance management processes and systems.
o Proficiency in using HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR software.
o Excellent communication skills in both English and Filipino (Tagalog).
o Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
o Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
o High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
o In-depth knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA standards and their implications for HR practices.
o Experience with conducting internal audits and preparing for external audits.
• Other Requirements:
o Must be legally eligible to work in the Philippines.
o Must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup for remote work.
• Certification:
o Certification in Human Resources.
