Who We Are
We’re an established creative agency (name withheld for anonymity) that produces high-end YouTube content, including brand campaigns, corporate videos, and engaging long-form storytelling. We’re seeking a highly proficient DaVinci Resolve video editor to join our remote team from the Philippines. If you thrive on organizing large volumes of footage, assembling narrative-driven edits, and creating strong rough cuts, you’ll fit right in.
Why This Role Matters
Our projects include high-quality YouTube videos, multi-camera interviews, and social media adaptations. We need your technical expertise to handle large sets of footage, create organized DaVinci Resolve project files (DRPs), and rough-cut videos so our Australian-based creative team can finalize the editing. Your work will be pivotal in keeping our post-production streamlined and efficient.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for organizing and sorting through large volumes of footage, including interviews, b-roll, and other media, to create structured timelines. This involves labeling clips clearly, tagging relevant content, and maintaining a tidy file structure in DaVinci Resolve. You will also create rough cuts and assembly edits, providing a solid first edit pass that establishes pacing and narrative flow, which will be refined further by our in-house team. Additionally, you will work on both long-form content ranging from 15 to 20 minutes and short-form edits between 30 seconds to 1 minute, including social media reels, teasers, and YouTube Shorts.
You will edit multi-camera YouTube videos, utilizing DaVinci Resolve’s multicam functionality to sync multi-camera recordings. Your role includes creating sequences that are easy for our creatives to refine. Occasionally, you will also edit internal content, such as agency vlogs, behind-the-scenes footage, or internal marketing content.
Who We’re Looking For
You must be highly proficient in DaVinci Resolve, with strong skills in editing, multicam syncing, basic color adjustments, and media management. Attention to detail is crucial, ensuring that all footage is properly labeled, binned, and tagged. Strong communication skills are required as you will be collaborating with an Australian-based creative team, making clear English communication essential. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and you must be able to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities. As part of a remote team, you must be reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable managing your own time and workload.
Rate & Schedule
The pay for this role is 360 PHP per hour. The working schedule is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, totaling 40 hours per week. The position is fully remote, so a stable internet connection is a must.
Why Join Us?
This role offers consistent, full-time work, eliminating the need for gig hunting and providing a steady workflow from various client projects. You will collaborate closely with an in-house creative team, focusing on technical editing while senior creatives refine the final cut. You will have opportunities to develop your skills by working on a diverse range of content, from long-form YouTube videos to short, high-impact social media edits, allowing you to refine your DaVinci Resolve expertise in a professional environment. The schedule aligns with Australian business hours, ensuring a more balanced work-life routine in the Philippines with no graveyard shifts.
How to Apply
To apply, use the subject line: “DaVinci Resolve Editor – [Your Name].”
Provide links to your portfolio or showreel, showcasing any rough cuts, interview edits, multicam syncs, or social media reels you have done in DaVinci Resolve. In a brief paragraph, describe your relevant editing experience and why this YouTube-focused role interests you.
Application Challenge (Required):
Scenario: You have a 20-minute interview recorded on a single camera at 24fps, with audio captured separately at 48kHz. You also have additional b-roll footage relevant to the interview topics. The goal is to produce a 1-minute rough-cut highlight for YouTube and social media.
Questions:
How would you import, label, and sync the interview and separate audio in DaVinci Resolve?
Once synced, what’s your approach to selecting the best quotes for the 1-minute highlight?
How would you incorporate b-roll to support the key talking points?
Please explain your steps and reasoning in a short written response (2–3 paragraphs).
Optional Loom Video: If you’d rather present your workflow visually, record a quick Loom (or similar) video walking us through how you’d set up this project in DaVinci Resolve.
Indicate your availability and start date in your application.
