Job Title: Xero Expert Virtual Assistant (Philippines-Based)

Location: Remote (Philippines-Based)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Virtual Assistant with expertise in Xero to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management, ensuring seamless financial operations and compliance. This role is fully remote and offers flexible working hours.

The initial project involves setting up and coding a large block of transactions into each chart. Raw data will be provided, along with three years of previous accounts to establish the Chart of Accounts in Xero. The Xero account is for a New Zealand company, so knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards and tax regulations will be beneficial. Additionally, we will require ongoing Xero work for an Australian company, so familiarity with Australian accounting standards and tax laws is also an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and code a large block of transactions into Xero.

Utilize three years of previous accounts to establish the Chart of Accounts.

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using Xero.

Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Reconcile bank transactions and credit card statements.

Prepare and submit GST and payroll (if applicable) according to New Zealand and Australian tax laws.

Generate and analyze financial reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets.

Assist in budget planning and cash flow forecasting.

Maintain organized and accurate financial records.

Work closely with the management team to provide insights on financial health.

Ensure compliance with New Zealand and Australian tax regulations and financial policies.

Handle invoicing, expense tracking, and financial data entry.

Provide administrative support and assist with ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Proven experience in Xero accounting software (certification is a plus).

Background in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.

Experience in setting up and structuring the Chart of Accounts.

Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.

Familiarity with New Zealand tax compliance and reporting (GST knowledge is essential).

Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance (preferred but not essential).

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other financial tools.

Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Reliable internet connection and a fully functional remote workspace.

Preferred Qualifications:

Xero Certified Advisor or equivalent certification.

Experience working with international clients.

Familiarity with New Zealand and Australian tax laws and financial regulations.

Previous experience in a Virtual Assistant or remote bookkeeping role.
