JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title
Divi Web Designer / WordPress Developer for Service Area Business (SAB) Websites

Overview
I run a growing digital agency that specializes in helping Service Area Businesses (SABs)—companies that serve customers at their locations rather than operate a brick-and-mortar storefront. I’m seeking a reliable, creative, and tech-savvy Divi Web Designer / WordPress Developer who can set up, maintain, and expand WordPress websites for a variety of SABs (e.g., plumbers, electricians, cleaning services, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

• Build & Customize WordPress Sites with Divi

• Set up new SAB websites from scratch (theme installation, essential plugins, basic structure).
• Create clean, modern, and conversion-focused designs using the Divi Builder.

• Service Area Structure

• Develop pages or sections for multiple cities/counties/areas served.
• Implement geo-targeted elements (e.g., location-based content, city-specific landing pages).

• On-Page SEO Best Practices

• Ensure proper heading hierarchy, meta tags, schema markup, and image optimization.
• Collaborate with SEO specialists (if needed) to refine service pages for local rankings.

• Maintain & Update Existing Sites

• Perform routine updates for WordPress, themes, and plugins.
• Troubleshoot functionality issues, security patches, backups, etc.

• Conversion Optimization

• Implement clear calls-to-action, contact forms, and click-to-call features.
• Ensure mobile responsiveness and user-friendly navigation.

• Performance & Security

• Optimize site speed (caching, image compression, code minification).
• Set up basic security measures (firewalls, SSL, security plugins).

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in Divi: Demonstrable experience building and customizing sites with the Divi Builder.
• Strong WordPress Knowledge: Comfortable with theme/plugin setup, troubleshooting, and general WP best practices.
• Understanding of SAB Needs: Familiarity with how service area businesses organize their offerings, location pages, and lead generation strategies.
• Basic to Intermediate Front-End Skills: HTML, CSS, and basic PHP (enough to customize Divi or handle small code tweaks).
• Responsive & Conversion-Focused Design: Ability to create user-friendly layouts that adapt seamlessly across devices.
• Good Communication & Documentation: Must be able to discuss project details clearly and document any changes made to client sites.

Nice-to-Have (Not Required)

• Local SEO Awareness: Familiar with location-specific SEO tactics, including on-page optimizations for multi-area targeting.
• Experience with Security & Performance Tools: (e.g., Wordfence, Cloudflare, WP Rocket, etc.)
• Graphic Design Skills: Basic ability to create or edit images/banners.
• WooCommerce: Knowledge of eCommerce functionality for SABs that offer online scheduling or product sales.

How to Apply

• Introduction: Briefly introduce yourself, your experience with Divi, and your familiarity with SAB websites.
• Portfolio: Provide links to at least 2–3 Divi-based WordPress sites you’ve built (especially any that target multiple service areas).
• include “SAB-Ready” in your first line of response, so I know you’ve read the entire posting. Availability & Rate: Share your hourly rate or project rate, plus when you can start.
• Your Approach: In a few lines, describe how you’d structure a site for a service area business (especially one covering multiple cities).
• Additional Skills: Mention any SEO or performance optimization tools/techniques you commonly use.

What I Offer

• Ongoing, consistent work if we’re a good fit (we have multiple SAB clients).
• Flexible hours as long as communication is clear and deadlines are met.
• Potential for long-term collaboration on larger projects or multi-location sites.
• Timely payments and constructive feedback.
