About Us:
We are an SEO agency specializing in helping contractors improve their online presence and generate leads. We have a skilled SEO Manager and Content Writer but need a technical expert to bridge the gap between strategy and execution. Most of our clients use WordPress with CMS builders like Elementor, though some have custom-coded websites.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a WordPress Website & SEO Specialist who can manage website updates, optimize performance, implement on-page and technical SEO strategies, and ensure best practices for website speed, security, and user experience. The ideal candidate should be proficient with WordPress, Elementor, and related SEO and performance optimization tools.
We are a small team of three, and we expect the person in this role to take full ownership of their responsibilities. This role is not just about executing tasks but about owning the website optimization process from end to end. You will be expected to take full responsibility for maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting websites without waiting for direction. We are not looking for someone who needs training; this role requires an experienced professional who can take initiative and execute tasks independently. This is not a position where tasks will be constantly delegated; instead, we need someone proactive who can identify issues, implement solutions, and drive results independently.
Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and refining systems and processes (SOPs) to improve efficiency and scale operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Upload and format blog content, landing pages, and service pages on WordPress sites.
- Build and optimize landing pages for conversions (always with SEO in mind)
- Set up and configure RankMath, WP Rocket, Imagify, and other SEO/performance plugins.
- Perform on-page SEO (meta tags, internal linking, schema markup, header structures, etc.).
- Conduct technical SEO audits and implement necessary fixes (site speed, indexing, crawlability, structured data, etc.).
- Optimize website performance, ensuring fast loading times and mobile-friendliness.
- Troubleshoot website issues, plugin conflicts, and broken links.
- Work with custom-coded websites when necessary, ensuring they adhere to SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with the SEO Manager to implement strategies that improve search rankings and user experience.
- Stay updated with WordPress and SEO trends to apply best practices.

Requirements:
- Proven experience with WordPress (Elementor and other builders).
- Strong understanding of on-page and technical SEO.
- Experience using and configuring RankMath, WP Rocket, and Imagify.
- Ability to efficiently manipulate WordPress sites for SEO purposes, including making structural changes and optimizing site elements.
- A good eye for design to make website modifications that enhance both aesthetics and usability.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and ability to work with a team.
- Ability to optimize Core Web Vitals and improve site speed.
- Ability to create conversion-focused landing pages.

Tools & Workflow:
Our team primarily works with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets) and ClickUp for project management. Familiarity with these tools is required.

The SEO and content teams collaborate extensively within these tools, so familiarity with them is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A huge bonus if you have previous experience working for a U.S. marketing agency, managing on-page and technical SEO for a large volume of websites simultaneously.
- Experience with custom-coded WordPress sites.
- Familiarity with local SEO strategies for contractors.
- Previous experience working with SEO agencies.

Work Schedule:
Standard hours: 7 AM - 3 PM EST

What We Offer:
- A role with significant responsibility and ownership in a small but growing agency.
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Opportunity to work with a growing agency and make a direct impact.
- Supportive team environment with growth opportunities.
