Part-Time Bookkeeper (Opportunity to Move to Full-Time)
Location: Remote
Balance In Books is a dynamic bookkeeping firm working with diverse clients in the health and wellness industry. We specialize in using QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc, and Financial Cents to streamline financial management for our clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and clarity in their financial reporting. We also have a couple Xero clients.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper with a minimum of 5 years of professional bookkeeping experience. It is an asset if this experience is in BC, Canada and there is familiarity with the GST and PST taxes. This is a part-time, remote position with the potential to transition to full-time within the year for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients
Reconcile accounts, and prepare financial reports (P&L, balance sheets, etc.)
Utilize QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc, and Financial Cents efficiently
Ensure accuracy and compliance with Canada Revenue Agency and tax regulations
Work with task management software to track and complete tasks effectively
Provide daily updates on progress and ask questions as needed to ensure clarity and accuracy
Communicate openly and clearly about how we can support you in your role
Qualifications:
Fluency in English and proactive/positive communication
5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably Canadian bookkeeping
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Hubdoc, and Financial Cents
In-depth understanding of payroll processing, financial reporting, and account reconciliation
Strong, uninterrupted internet connection to support remote work
Familiarity with GST and PST for BC, Canada bookkeeping
Willingness to research when necessary to ensure accurate bookkeeping practices
