Role: Senior Back-End Developer
Contract: Full-time Remote Contractor (40 hours weekly / 160 hours monthly)
Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM EST
Rate: $5,000 - $6,000 USD monthly (Salary is negotiable based on experience and location)
Availability to Start: Immediately

- Backend: Node.js, Express, Mongoose, and TypeScript
- Frontend: React, Redux Toolkit, TypeScript, MUI, and Bootstrap
- Database: MongoDB (Atlas), and Postgres (AWS RDS)
- AWS Services: EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, and RDS
- CI/CD: CircleCI
- Monitoring: Sentry and CloudWatch

What You'll Do:
As a Senior Back-End Developer, you'll play a critical role in developing and maintaining high-performance server-side applications, ensuring their scalability, efficiency, and security. You’ll leverage Node.js, Express, and AWS services to create secure and robust applications while adhering to best practices in backend architecture. Your role will involve designing APIs, including RESTful services, and integrating with external systems to ensure seamless functionality. You’ll also manage databases, focusing on MongoDB, Postgres, and data ingestion pipelines to optimize performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key as you integrate front-end and back-end components and participate in discussions about transitioning to microservices or serverless systems.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable server-side applications using Node.js and Express.
- Utilize AWS services to deploy, configure, and manage secure applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and secure code in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate them with external systems.
- Participate in backend architecture discussions, including transitioning from monolithic APIs to microservices or serverless systems.
- Troubleshoot, debug and optimize performance for critical applications.
- Design and manage databases with a focus on MongoDB, Postgres, and data ingestion pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate front-end and back-end components seamlessly.
- Conduct code reviews, offer technical leadership, and mentor teaUpgrade to see actual infombers.

What You Should Have:
MUST HAVES:
- 8+ years of professional backend development experience, with proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for server-side development.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Back-End Developer, with a proven track record of leading development teams and delivering complex solutions.
- At least one year of experience in a global remote or virtual environment for a company in North America, Europe, Australia or the UAE.
- Solid working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and the ability to independently configure and manage them.
- Expertise in MongoDB and database design, including data ingestion and warehouse solutions.
- Familiarity with best practices for security, performance optimization, and basic compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2).
- Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Strong knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- Ability to articulate backend best practices and adapt based on feedback.

NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience in the healthcare or startup industries is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices architectures, serverless solutions, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and optimizing development workflows.
- Proven experience working in both monolithic and microservice architectures.
- Willingness to work in a DevOps-light environment.
