Who We Are
We’re an in-house marketing team in the pest control industry, operating across the continental United States. Our goal is to optimize and scale our Google and Microsoft Ads campaigns to drive more qualified leads—particularly phone calls. Call-only ads will be an important (but not the only) component of our strategy. We need a skilled SEM marketer to manage and grow these campaigns from end to end.
To get a feel for part of our strategy and thinking, check out this YouTube video:
------------------
What We’re Looking For
We want an SEM professional who:
1. Understands call-only ads (especially in Google Ads) and can successfully integrate them as one part of our broader lead-gen strategy.
2. Has hands-on experience building, optimizing, and scaling Google and Microsoft Ads campaigns for local services—pest control or similar home services is a plus.
3. Can independently manage budgets, test new ideas, and pivot quickly based on data.
4. Has a keen eye for analyzing search terms and cleaning up traffic (negative keywords, match types, etc.).
5. Communicates effectively in fluent English and can prepare clear weekly/monthly reports on performance.
6. Is comfortable tracking time and tasks via Jibble (app-based time-tracking required).
-------------------
Important Application Requirement
In your application message, you must include:
1. An overview of how you would launch and optimize call-only ads (and expand to full RSAs later) as part of a larger campaign strategy as outlined in the video, within five regions (so 2x5 campaigns to manage simultaneously as a minimum)
2. Key points from the YouTube video that show you truly understand the approach.
3. A high-level weekly management plan (e.g., how often you’ll review search terms, apply negatives, tweak bids, etc.).
Submissions that do not cover these three areas will be automatically disregarded.
-------------------
Key Responsibilities
1. Campaign Setup & Strategy
• Launch and manage call-only campaigns for our pest control services while also running standard search, and dynamic search ads efforts in Google and Microsoft Ads.
• Conduct thorough keyword research to identify top-performing queries for pest control, including seasonal pests and local/regional search trends.
• Strategize bids and budgets to achieve lead volume and CPA (cost per acquisition) targets.
2. Ongoing Optimization & Search Term Cleanup
• Perform regular search term report analysis to add negative keywords and discover new high-intent terms.
• Adjust bids, device targets, and ad schedules based on real-time data to ensure maximum ROI.
• Test different ad copy angles, extensions, and offers to boost CTR and conversion rates.
3. Analytics & Reporting
• Track, measure, and attribute leads accurately (especially phone calls); troubleshoot tracking issues quickly.
• Compile weekly and monthly reports detailing spend, CPA, conversion rates, and proposed optimizations.
• Use insights (time of day, geography, pests in season, etc.) to refine targeting.
4. Collaboration & Communication
• Communicate findings and progress with our in-house marketing director
• Offer proactive solutions or new ad approaches when viable (e.g. as seen in the YouTube video)
• Align campaigns with broader brand positioning in the pest control market.
• Use Jibble for time tracking, ensuring transparency in work hours and tasks.
5. Testing & Innovation
• Remain current on new Google/Microsoft Ads features (Performance Max, new ad formats, etc.) and adapt these to pest control if beneficial.
• Suggest fresh angles for creative and landing pages to maintain high relevancy and quality scores.

Why Join Us?
• Long-Term Partnership: We aim to invest in a lasting working relationship, not a quick gig.
• Flexibility & Autonomy: Work from home, set a structured schedule that allows for some US crossover time, but is mostly asynchronous in nature
• Impactful Role: Your data-driven insights will directly shape how effectively we handle pest control leads.
• Collaborative Environment: Expect open communication, transparency, and support.
