Roof Technologies is a leading roofing company dedicated to providing high-quality roofing solutions to residential and commercial clients. 1 We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of roofing systems, construction practices, and possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working independently from a remote location.

Job Summary:
The Remote Roofing Estimator is responsible for accurately assessing roofing projects, preparing detailed and competitive estimates, and effectively communicating those estimates to potential clients, all while working remotely. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, self-discipline, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Virtual Site Inspections: Utilize technology (e.g., satellite imagery, aerial measurements, client-provided photos/videos, video conferencing) to assess existing roof conditions, identify necessary repairs or replacements, and accurately measure roof areas. Develop creative solutions for gathering essential information remotely.

Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing projects, including materials, labor, permits, and other associated costs. Utilize estimating software and tools as required.

Material Takeoffs: Calculate accurate material quantities needed for each project, ensuring efficient ordering and minimizing waste.

Client Communication: Present estimates to clients clearly and professionally, explaining the scope of work, materials to be used, and pricing details via phone, email, and video conferencing. Address client questions and concerns effectively.
Contract Review: Review contracts for accuracy and completeness before presenting them to clients for signature electronically.
Project Coordination: Collaborate remotely with project managers and other team members to ensure smooth project handoffs and efficient execution.

Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on current roofing industry trends, material pricing, and competitor offerings.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of estimates, and project details using provided software and platforms. Provide regular reports to management on sales activity and performance.

Self-Management: Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks while working independently in a remote environment.
Safety Compliance: While not physically on-site, maintain awareness of and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures related to the estimating process.

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in roofing estimation preferred or a related field.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of roofing systems (shingles, metal, flat roofing, etc.), construction practices, and building codes

Estimating Skills: Proven ability to accurately estimate roofing projects, including material takeoffs and labor costs.

Software Proficiency: Experience with roofing estimating software (e.g., [List specific software if applicable]) and Microsoft Office Suite. Comfort with various online communication and collaboration tools.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical information to clients remotely (via phone, email, video conferencing).

Customer Service: Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building positive client relationships remotely.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and contract preparation.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the estimation process, often independently.

Self-Discipline: Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment, managing time and priorities effectively.

Reliable Internet Access: Must have reliable high-speed internet access for effective communication and use of online tools.

Preferred Experience
A working knowledge of how to use Xactimate software
Experience working with Local Municipalities is a plus
