We're recruiting a full-time Paralegal / In-House Counsel for a UK-based property management company.
This role offers a long-term career opportunity in a small, respectful team environment. We welcome applicants with diverse legal backgrounds / experience in common law jurisdictions.

This is a new position within the business and requires you to be independent and a self-starter. Upon starting, we will give you several legal issues to deal with, and will expect you to be proactive and independent in dealing with them, researching the law / procedures as necessary and applying into practice.
Role Overview:
- Contract management: Drafting, reviewing, and editing various agreements
- Tenant dispute resolution: Handling pre-litigation communication and paper-based proceedings
- Legal analysis: Evaluating potential contracts and identifying key issues
- Compliance: Researching property management regulations and ensuring adherence
- Independent case management: Handling legal matters with minimal oversight
- Research, tender and selection of physical law firms for specific matters where external advisors are required
Qualifications:
- Legal background in a common law system (US, UK, or similar)
- Comprehensive legal education *with research and litigation modules* (IMPORTANT - formal lawyer qualification NOT mandatory, but passion for the law, curiosity and creativity are important)
- Proficiency in independent legal research and solution development
- Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT/Perplexity, including understanding their limitations
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; you will be required to speak on the telephone to various parties (phone line provided)
- Reliable high-speed internet and power supply (you will be working through a remote connection to our computer)
- Self-motivated with strong independent work ethic
- Available to start immediately and complete a brief unpaid trial (2-3 days)

Work Schedule:
Remote work, Monday to Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM UK time, with on-call availability for emergencies
